Other Activities

I'm involved in a range of activities that span across research and coursework.

Gender balance in STEM

Addressing the imbalance of STEM graduates is a top priority for our  School and is an area of personal interest. Within the School, I carry out a range of activities around first year inductions for new females, an annual female meet-up, transition year student events - and hosting of Code-First-Girls events.

If you are interested in this area, I gave a talk on "How to address STEM gender balance" at the Third Level Computing Form - which contained some interesting insights into which computer science programmes are attracting more females.

If you want to discuss this area more, just contact me at susan  dot  mc keever  at dit dot ie
